Our Beliefs
Growing People From Every Tribe, Tongue, and Nation into Disciples
As you are well aware, the selection of a church is very crucial for your spiritual development. Like it or not, God has gifted you for the spiritual welfare of others. (Ephesians 4:12) He has called us to be in quality relationships, first with Him and then, with each other. Mark 12:30-31 says, “The first of all commandments is, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength’…And the second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Consequently, the church, like no other institution, provides the ultimate platform for you and I to obey these commands.
According to Galatians 2:9, the purpose of church membership is to befriend a conglomerate of believers, seeking to partner with them to fulfill God’s kingdom purpose for that particular local assembly. Psalms 129:5 says, “May the Lord bless you from Zion all the days of your life.” Hebrews 12:22-24 says that Zion, which is the holy hill of Jerusalem where the glory of the Lord resided in the temple, is likened unto the church. Therefore, when you come to church, the Spirit of the Lord resides there as He did in the temple. (1 Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 2:21-22) This means there are specific blessings solely attached to those who are dynamically attached to Zion, i.e., the church, because God’s Spirit is there.
Our vision statement says that we are: “Growing People From Every Tribe, Tongue, and Nation into Disciples.” Therefore, our mission statement is: CKBF exists to make disciples of every nation by being a Bible-based, multi-ethnic fellowship of believers. We want CKBF to look like what Heaven looks like! Heaven is not going to be all Anglo-Saxon (white), African-American (black), Hispanic- American (brown), Native-American (red) or Asian-American (yellow). On the contrary, every nation (Greek word “ethnos”, which means “ethnicity”) will be represented in the kingdom of God. (Revelation 7:9) “We also want to KEEP IT REAL.” If you’re sick, hurting, discouraged, offended, let us know. Church is not the place to play act, cover up sin, remain in denial, or put up fronts.
Grace and Peace,
